REVIEW
The second Terrorizer Grindhouse night Wakefield and Death Fest warm-up gig in didn’t look as if it was going to do ahead after a last minute change of venue from the The DNE to The snooty Fox the line up now consisted of five bands.
Kicking of the night where local band heavy metal band IRON VOID. Although only a small crowd is present at this time in the day, they soon put a stop to this with some pure heavy metal riffs as the room starts to fill. With strong powerful vocals coming from singer Sealey and some mind blowing solos from guitarist Steve they do a great job at getting this event started and the crowed warmed up.
Next up are Sheffield deathcore band SECONDS TO SLAUGHTER who brought a much heavier set to day compiling of brutal rhythmic riffs followed by fast technical solos.
As the crowed grows the third band of the day Sheffield/Manchester based Dyscaphia take to the stage. With a death/grindcore sound and songs that mostly seem to be about slaves, they soon get into the swing of things with vocalist Sean taking over the stage and even the crowd. They put on a great show getting the crowed really going and starting the first of many pits to follow that night.
Next on if Manchester based FOETAL JUICE with their own blend of old school death, thrash and black metal. With high pitch screeches and deathly growls from vocalist Sam they show a range of these styles getting the crowd moshing along and starts pits to most of the set. This is one band that you must go experience for yourself!
Finally headlining this brutal day of death metal are London Based extreme Death Metalers AGHAST. As soon as they start to play you can tell why they guys are the headline act! With crushing riffs and deathly vocals the crowd, which by now has considerably grown, soon starts to create a pit. This band is one to watch and should easily have been on the Death Fest line up!
A few Weeks ago I did a shoot for the Hartley family of the kids for mothers day presents. Click the image bellow to see some of the photos from the shoot.
It's been a while since I’ve done some live shoots so last week I though I'd go down and get back into it.
The Snooty Fox in Wakefield Is one of the best small venues around the Wakefield/Leeds area and that night was home to a great line up of bands.
Starting with Scion who have been out of the live stream for a while now. They put on an amazing performance and really got the crowd going, making a great comeback to the scene.
Next up where The Drowning who came all the way from Cardiff, Wales! Despite the lack of crowd, which was a real shame, the put on an amazing set from their past two albums.
Finally the headline act The Prophecy. Unfortunately their set didn't get off to a great start as the venues screen in-front of the stage got stuck, but after that miner set back they showed everyone why they are one of the best bands in Yorkshire. The crowd had picked up once again and where greeted by songs both new and old.
Overall it was an amazing night. Click the image bellow to see some of the photos I got from the night.
